FRIDAY NIGHTS AT NOMA: MINDFULNESS, TRANSFORMATION, AND CHANGE

In remembrance of Hurricane Katrina, NOMA will be holding a special Friday Nights at NOMA, featuring soothing harp music by Cathy Anderson and reflective meditation sessions led by Dr. José Calderón-Abbo and Keith Werhan, J.D.

  • 5-8 p.m.: Art on the Spot
  • 5:30-8:30 p.m.: Music by Cathy Anderson
  • 6-6:30 p.m.: Remembering-loving-kindness
  • 6:45-7:15 p.m.: Movement and change
  • 7:30-8 p.m.: Gratitude and growth

Mindfulness, Transformation, and Change: Our City, Ourselves

With José Calderón-Abbo, M.D. mind-body medicine/mindfulness teacher and Keith Werhan, J.D.

Professor Werhan and Dr. Calderón are both meditation teachers and long time mind-body practitioners. Professor Werhan is faculty at Tulane Law School and teaches yoga at Freret Street Yoga Studio. Dr. Calderón is a psychiatrist and faculty with LSU and Tulane School of Medicine and conducts mindfulness groups nationally and internationally. This program is an invitation to hold the personal and communal transformation of the tenth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina through the wisdom and heart of mindfulness practices. This reflective-experiential session has three, half hour segments; you are welcome to attend all or some of them. These sessions are open to all those new to mindfulness practices and experienced practitioners alike.
