12 p.m. March 26, 2014

Stop by the museum for Noontime Talks, held every Wednesday at noon during the month of March.

Noontime Talks are casual, informative discussions on works or exhibitions in NOMA’s galleries, given by curators or special guests.

Embellished, Adorned, and Decorative
Join Mel Buchanan, RosaMary Curator of Decorative Arts & Design, in discussing two new decorative arts installations. These circa 1900 Art Nouveau and late 20th-century postmodern designs spring from wildly different places, but all the objects share adorned surfaces. We’ll discuss the meaning of embellishments like a dolphin, mermaid, staircases, fake burled wood, and the iridescent glass that Tiffany made famous.

Meet at the elevators on the second floor.

Wednesdays are FREE for Louisiana residents, so join us and learn something new!
