NOONTIME TALK WITH RUSSELL LORD: FRANCIS FRITH'S EGYPT AND PALESTINE

12 p.m. June 11, 2014

Join us every Wednesday in June for Noontime Talks, where NOMA curators and special guests lead casual discussions about particular works or exhibitions in NOMA’s galleries.

“Francis Frith’s Egypt and Palestine: Early Photographs of the Holy Land”
On June 11, curator of photographs Russell Lord will will discuss the role that photography played in providing information (or misinformation) about the Middle East in the 19th century. The talk will center on an important two volume publication filled with actual 19th century photographs by Francis Frith (British, 1822-1898) that will pulled from storage for just this occasion.

Wednesdays are FREE for Louisiana residents, so stop by!
