Educator Appreciation Day

Teachers get in FREE with a school ID! On this special day, bring your valid school ID or current school check stub and get FREE admission to NOMA for you and up to three family members. NOMA appreciates your hard work and dedication.

Educator Workshops

Bring art into your classroom with lessons inspired by NOMA’s permanent collection and temporary exhibitions. Lesson plans, worksheets, images, classroom activities, and a museum tour are provided. We make it easy to fulfill Act 175 requirements and integrate visual art in your curriculum. Workshops take place on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Come early at 4:00 to enjoy refreshments and exchange ideas with colleagues.

The Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation Service Learning Program offers service learning awards to schools to apply what is learned in the classroom to intentional service in the community. Teachers of grades K-12 in Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington Parishes are invited to attend a free service learning application workshop at the New Orleans Museum of Art. Attendees can select either the one-hour workshop on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. or Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from noon to 1:00 p.m. There is no charge to attend or to receive a binder of information.
