To kick-off the final centennial exhibition NOMA 100: Gifts for the Second Century, NOMA presents a talk by Keith Sonnier about his recent gift to NOMA called Fluorescent Room. For this piece, Sonnier arranges different size foam rubber blocks covered with green and orange fluorescent powder in a room lit with black lights. This exhibition explores both the concepts of light reflection and audience participation. Keith Sonnier, a Louisiana born artist, was one of the first artists to experiment with light as a sculptural material.
