ARTIST KEITH SONNIER TALKS TO CURATOR MIRANDA LASH

Artist Keith Sonnier talks to Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Miranda Lash, about his recent gift to NOMA called “Fluorescent Room.” For his piece, Sonnier arranges different size foam rubber blocks covered with green and orange fluorescent powder in a room lit with black lights.

Sonnier’s art explores the concepts of light reflection and audience participation. A Louisiana born artist, he was one of the first artists to experiment with light as a sculptural material.
