'NOMA 100, GIFTS FOR THE SECOND CENTURY' AT THE NEW ORLEANS MUSEUM OF ART
Video by: Dough MacCash of the Times Picayune
New Orleans Museum of Art Director Emeritus E. John Bullard gives a video tour of ‘NOMA 100: Gifts for the Second Century,’ an exhibition of 110 recent donations honoring the centennial of the museum. Bullard describes a set of ancient Egyptian artifacts, an 80 pound 19th-century trophy cup by the Gorham Silver Company, a ballerina sketch by Edgar Degas, a painting on newspaper by Willem de Kooning, a crushed auto sculpture by John Chamberlain and a glittering print by Andy Warhol. NOMA's Centennial Celebration, a free, 31-hour event featuring art-making activities, exhibit tours, concerts, and a late-night dance party.
